Be ready for big swings up and down, and routine triple-digit pots on the weekends. The food is so good that I actually plan on eating here if I am going to play at night. In fact, I have not found an asian restaurant in Tacoma with better food than Macau. Cardroom Quality: Everything is still new and clean here. However, they have dropped down to 3 tables as they expanded their pit games. They have become much busier after the closing of Happy Days and the pit is often crackin'.
Player Level: $3-6 and $4-8 six players to the flop, sometimes capped around. Crazy drunk games late on weekends. At last call you will see entire tables doing shots. Dealers: They always know my name - even dealers I am unfamiliar with. They keep the game moving and will tell a player when they are slowing down the game. Food and Drink: Best food I have ever had in a poker room - by a long shot. Comps are $9, just buy in and have a players card and you will get one. Asian food is specialty but American is good too. Domestic bottles are $1 if you are in the game. Management: They do not have a floor man - dealers who are "off" have to floor. The poker manager (excellent) told me he has tried to get this changed but casino management won't allow it. This can be a big negative on a busy Friday night but during the week it goes unnoticed - unless you are waiting five minutes to buy in while the "off" dealer is outside smoking. Extras: They have a number of promotions where you can win small amounts of money - for example, you get a sealed envelope on Saturday and if you bring it in on Wednesday they will open it for and you win something. The jackpot board is still 2-10 quads, JJJJ-AAAA, straight flush, and royals by suit. Jackpots go double/triple after 1:00 am. Great monthly $5000 freeroll for regular players (no chopping until final table).

Solid New Comer just needs a bigger player base, Sunday, 26 August 2007 Written by Govman6767 I think the macau has a future because of the players they have now. The cool dealers they have now and from what I heard the food they have now but ppl just need to spread the word I guess. I turned 300 into 2000 in the spread game last night and plan on going back on fri and sat until all the fishies dry up. Cardroom Quality: Cardroom is practally new. Chips are pristine and not dirty. All chairs are new and comfy. (They are not the reclining seats but they are padded well)
Lighting is perfect. Felt is new. Tables fit 10 well. Player Level: I saw players here so drunk they should not have been allowed another beverage. The 5/30 spread game there could be 7 ppl cold calling 30 dollar raises preflop so you just can't beat the moneymaking potential. Dealers: Ok this is the first place I've ever played poker that the dealers called me by my first name and it was kinda cool. (It could be because of the 10 dollar tips I was firing them) But I really like friendly dealers and they always were kind and on top of the action. Food and Drink: I'm giving this a temp 4 because I did not eat any food. But the majority of players were eating and stated that they felt the Macau had the best food in the area as far as cardrooms go. I was a little mad because red bull was 3. 50 a can even at the big limit tables. That's a lot. Soda water coffee (free) Beer is standard price. But the Red Bull..... come on. Management: They lose a few points here only because I played in the Sat morning tournament and asked the floor 3 times when it was going to start and he ignored me. The tournament started late but it went smooth after that. During the night at the 5/30 spread There was an argument about a string raise and no floor came over. I also like the pit games :( and it always took the floor 3x longer than anywhere else to put my player card on the books. Extras: Food Comps last forever, Monte Carlo.... 2-10 quads JJ, QQ, KK, AA, Str flush, then royals by suit. Auto Shufflers, Good giveaways (Big screen TV last night) 5000 dollar monthly freeroll,
